VIS Vienna Intependent Shorts festival starts Thursday, May 26th. This year, in the accompanying discussions and out-of-competition screenings, the festival focuses on the question of new media and new forms of communication. The Internet - and especially communities such as YouTube or Vimeo - is changing the way we interact with short films. It changes our habits and expectations. How are the ever newer virtual communities reflected in our social reality. What part of it do their form? How new media and the Internet impact the form of a film festival? The organizers have some answers already, but the discussions will continue.
