X FESTIWAL KINA AMATORSKIEGO I NIEZALEŻNEGO KAN 2009

On April 22–26 2009, in Kino "Warszawa" in Wrocław, the tenth, jubilee edition of the Amateur and Independent Cinema Festival KAN. These five days were packed with mature OFF Cinema, foreign films, music, and photography. For the first time, beside the Feature Film Competition and the Documentary Film Competition, there was a third one--Animated Film Competition.

The hall at "Warsaw" was packed with KANtastic Audience. Many artists, guestes and Journalist's came. For all of them, KAN has once again proven to be a worthwhile, inspiring encounter with film>/b>.



The Jury of KAN 2009:

Since it's first edition ten years ago, KAN was visited by 32 Jurors, all of whom were in many ways connected to the film industry. Each of them has come with their own doubts and a little reserve, but all were greeted with open arms and a huge thank you for their time and experience

Accompanying Events:


25.04

  • "Red Day at KAN--workshops in using RED ONE equipment in film production. Led by the director and owner of DiVIZION Film Studin, Marcin Kryjom.

01.04-26.04

  • KAN 2009 Anniversary Exhibition--an photo-essay about the history of KAN, displayed in Wrocław's Market Square. It was a portrayal of all that is KAN and surrounds KAN: films, people, music, photography.
  • Meetings in KAN Festival Club, Włodkowica 21--there were some young bands playing their songs during KAN--Checkolada, Mango Colective--and some older ones--The Crackers and Lili Marlene.
