INTERNATIONAL KANSK FESTIVAL is not a conventional film festival. It is an experiment in time and space. Its name is a joking reference to the famous Festival de Cannes - Kańsk, a small town in Siberia, is a phonetic echo of the French festival (just as KAN is in Polish). It unites makers of film, animation and videoart on the anti-Hollywood art-territory. Nadezda Bakuradze, the artistic director of the festival, was a member of the Foreign Film Competition Jury at KAN 2011.

Kańsk, Krasnoyarsk, Russia, 19-28 June, 2011

MEDIAWAVE INTERNATIONAL FILM AND MUSIC FESTIVAL Many people – in the past as well as today – considered the festival, which is the foundation’s best-known program, too folksy while others considered it too urban. The organisers believe that this very point of view, the respect for both the traditions and the modern ways – clashing or paralleling them – is what gives a special flavour to the festival in the Hungarian and international art-transmitting community.

Szombathely, Hungary, 2-12 June
